Neurodegenerative diseases

Clearer decisions
before shunt surgery.

Adelle Diagnostics is developing molecular tests for neurodegenerative diseases and related conditions. ShuntIQ, our first test candidate, is designed to help clinicians assess who may benefit from shunt surgery for normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).

ShuntIQ is in development

Treatable condition.
Uncertain outcome.

In normal pressure hydrocephalus, cerebrospinal fluid builds up in the brain. This can affect walking, thinking and bladder control. Surgery to drain the excess fluid with a shunt can help, but the benefit varies from patient to patient.

Understand NPH

The question behind ShuntIQ

Who is likely to benefit from a shunt?

We’re developing ShuntIQ to give care teams another piece of evidence before making that decision with patients.

From molecular patterns to evidence clinicians can use.

DIMA™ is Adelle’s biomarker discovery platform. It brings molecular profiling and machine learning together to look for signals linked to treatment response.

First application: ShuntIQ
  1. 01

    Profile the sample

Study molecular features in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), including RNA and metabolites.

  2. 02

    Find patterns linked to recovery

Use machine learning to identify candidate biomarkers associated with outcomes after surgery.

  3. 03

    Develop and validate a test

ShuntIQ is a CSF test candidate designed to help assess likely shunt benefit. It is not available for clinical use.
